I Don’t Just Wine

I am going to make a Throwback Thursday Post and work on having more Mohawk Valley Valley Adventures tomorrow. Any objections? I thought not.

I wish I was there!

From January 2017, I found this picture of Prospect Falls Winery in Prospect, NY. I love that place! I see by their Facebook page they are open. Not this minute, but tomorrow. There’s an adventure I could get into.

Beer is good, too!

Here is a picture of my husband Steven and me at Woodland Farm Brewery in Utica, NY. That is another site I’d like to visit again.

I think we look nice.

These hot flappers are my friend Kim and I at a Prohibition Party at Gerber 1933 Tavern in Utica. They are temporarily closed, according to their Facebook page. Oh, I hope they re-open soon! I will be there, whether or not I can dress in 1920’s clothes.

And there’s always booze.

I was looking for another picture of 1920’s clothes, but I found this one of the proprietors of DikinDurt Distillery in Herkimer, NY. I believe they are still open at their Smith Road location, as well as being available at some local liquor stores and bars. It is some very fine stuff.

I guess this has been a fairly alcohol-soaked Throwback Thursday Post. But I never drink and drive. In future posts I’ll look to share some sober adventures as well.

In the meantime, I am over 200 words. Happy Thursday, everyone!

I Think I’ll Have a Drink Now

Check out the hair! Mine’s curly! And Steven has, well, more than he has now.

No, it is not my wedding anniversary.  However, I thought I would try for a Throw Back Thursday theme and share some old pictures.  Naturally this one came to mind.  Look at us sipping champagne out of those wide glasses. I prefer a flute, to preserve the bubbles (not that I generally nurse a glass of champagne long enough for it to lose its bubbles).  Also, I love the look of a flute.

This is about what our hair looks like now, although I am getting my cut tomorrow.

And here we are, still together, still sipping the bubbly.  This bubbly is beer from Woodland Farm Brewery in Utica, NY.  This was actually some time ago.  I have not worn that sweatshirt since my hot flashes got severe and frequent (not complaining, just noting the effect on my wardrobe).

Drinks and friends, what’s not to like?

I didn’t think I had another picture of Steven and me drinking (we’re not complete lushes, after all), and then I saw this one!  It isn’t throwing back all that far, only till last October.  This is a cast shot from A G.R.A.V.E. Murder, an interactive mystery we presented to benefit the Herkimer County Historical Society.  Ooh, and that brings me to the present time:  our next murder mystery, Secrets at the Suiter House, is the day after tomorrow, Saturday, March 31, at Ilion Moose Lodge, once again to benefit the Herkimer County Historical Society.  For more information, consult the Facebook event.

Well, I kind of like how this post worked out:  past to present.  Does that make it Throw Back Thursday or Non-Sequitur Thursday?  Or possibly Pictures of Me and Steven Thursday?  You decide.

Steven and Me

There is nothing like not having a damn thing to post about to make one less self-conscious about the thing she did NOT want to post about yesterday (one and she being, of course, me).  Additionally, when I asked Steven what I could make my blog post about, he said, “ME!”  Well, it will be about him and me, as I share a few photos and memories (yes, I’m still relying on the find a few pics method of blog posting.  I kind of like it).

The first photo is from our wedding day, back in 1990.  Check out my ugly big glasses!  Big ugly glasses are coming back into style, but I don’t think we’ll see these again.

How handsome Steve looks! He still is pretty cute.

We are drinking the toast offered by his best man.  I have no memory about what was said.  I don’t even remember if it was a good champagne.  I like dry champagne now, and I prefer to drink it out of a flute.

This next picture was taken at the HALO Luau Fundraiser, a few years ago.  I think I wrote a blog post about it.  I wonder if I can find it and make a link.

Us get silly for a photo op? Say it ain’t so!

This next one is more recent.  We visited Woodland Hops Farm.  I don’t think I made a blog post about it, but I wrote an article for Mohawk Valley Living magazine.  My sister Cheryl took the picture.

Cheers!

It’s kind of too bad that we are toasting in two but not three of the pictures.  It would have been nice to have, you know, kind of a theme. On the other hand, they are all pictures of a happy couple enjoying themselves.
