Lame It All!

Now look what I’ve done!

I deserved that.  First let me explain that something I like to do at work is to just walk up to somebody and say, “Now look what you’ve done!”  I rarely catch anybody doing anything,  but some people say things like, “Yes, I have done it, ” or even, ” Yeah I dooded it!”

So what have I done?  Well, it seems I have backed my way into a Friday Lame Post.   The evening progresses and I want to put in a cheesy horror movie before my husband Steven comes back in the room and suggests some feel-good movie.  I don’t have anything against feel-good movies, I even like some of them.  Only they don’t usually make me feel particularly good.  Blame it on my perverse nature.  I laugh when it rains and I’m glum during a feel-good flick.

Wow, that was a long paragraph for me.  Now I can’t think of what to put next.  Isn’t that just typical!

I had thought I would at least manage a Scattered Friday post,  although that would have laced alliteration.   I spent a good part of the day running around doing stuff (and an embarrassing portion of the day wondering what to do).  Now the thought of listing all that activity feels more tiring than actually doing it was.

Now I have spent over 200 words dithering over the fact that I have not posted and do not feel capable of making a post.  I am beginning to giggle at myself.  Happy Lame Friday, folks!

Tired From My Ego Trip?

I went running after work today,  so I thought I c

ould make a Running Commentary post.  Since finishing the run, I have been running around doing all kinds of useful stuff (at least I hope it was all useful), so no promises as to how much of the run I remember.

Mostly I remember that it started bad but ended good.  Oh dear, should I have included a Spoiler Alert? Maybe I am not up to a Running Commentary post and should content myself with my usual Tired Tuesday (check it out, the predictive text thingy guessed I was about to type Tired Tuesday).

Writing has not been coming easily lately.  I can’t add “tired or not” because it seems I am always tired.  However,  I persevere.  I was rewarded earlier with some good ideas for the novel I am working on.  After I hit Publish on this piece of nonsense,  I may work on it some more.

Then again, if this is all I can manage for a blog post, what business do I have embarking on a novel?  What an ego!  Well, I have always maintained that there are worse things than having an ego the size of Manhattan.

In the meantime,  I just hit 200 words.  I am going to put the Tablet down and pick up my notebook (I mean the regular spiral-bound paper kind, not another computer).  Happy Tuesday and I hope to see you all on Wuss-out Wednesday (BONUS!  The predictive text thingy guessed Wuss-out Wednesday! ).

Maybe If I Left Out a Couple Geese A-Laying

I am even more tired now than I was on Tired Tuesday!  What the hell, me?  No matter.  I have one more day of work to get through, then I have the next week and one day off.  And only about a million and twelve things to do before Christmas on Monday.  Ooh, I randomly decided to put 1,000,012 instead of a more mundane 1,000,000, then I realized “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”  So I went ahead and changed my headline.

I had originally put, “At Least I Chopped the Celery.”  I was going to do a kind of a Scattered Thursday, because I did a bit of running around after work today, which is no doubt why I am so tired (yuh think?). However, I just realized that I cannot very well talk about where all I stopped, because I was buying Christmas presents.  The recipients MIGHT read my blog post (or do I flatter myself?) and guess what I got them!  Worse yet, they might guess wrong and get their hopes up for a better present than I actually selected.  Oh, the pain. (Yes, that is a period there, not an exclamation point; I was being Dr. Smith from Lost in Space; remember how he always said that in such a quiet, tired voice?).

So this is your basic Non-Sequitur Thursday post.  At least I got it over 200 words.  And I like the headline.  I hope to see you all again tomorrow on Lame Post Friday.

Horror to Hummus

I pause in the midst of my Non-Sequitur Thursday gyrations to make a blog post. I don’t have all my stuff done.  I am not going to get all my stuff done tonight.  It is unknown how much stuff I will get done tomorrow.  No matter.  My blog post will get done.

I did not end my prom night, or indeed any night so far, looking like this.

I paused in my posting to peek at Facebook and saw this picture. It is, of course, Sissy Spacek in the title role of Carrie.  I identified with Carrie’s stunned, overwhelmed, almost zombie-ish look.  I went to the Facebook page it came from, Classic Horror Movies, where I saw this gem:

He does not look particularly happy either.

This is Christopher Lee in Horror of Dracula.  I identified with his look, too, and not just the surprise and horror.  Look how bloodshot his eyes are.  I get that problem during allergy season too.  Who knew Dracula suffered from rhinitis?

I had been going to tell the tale of all the running around and stuff I have been doing.  Now I feel more into sharing pictures of horror movies.  But I don’t really have time to (a) compose a decent blog post or (b) look for more cool pictures.  I have to get back into the kitchen and do the dishes.  I’ve been mixing and making refreshments for a cast party tomorrow.  Just to throw in another mention of The Tempest.  You know, that play I’m in?

That reminds me: I also have to look over my lines again.  Happy Thursday, everyone.

Fake Poo and Leftovers on Scattered Saturday

It is time I made my Scattered Saturday post for the week.  Or some sort of Saturday post.  Because, you know, it is Saturday (even if my WordPress page says differently; I can’t fix these technological glitches).  Only I am tired and would prefer to get on with my couch-sitting, crocheting, watching television portion of the day.  What a bum!  In my defense, I did a few things today.

I went running around with my friend, Kim.  We were seeking props for He Laughed Himself to Death, the murder mystery at Morning Star Methodist Church April 1.  We had some good luck. I was a little disappointed in the quality of fake poo we found, but I was pleased with the flies in ice cubes and the joy buzzers.  Oh dear, I hope I haven’t given too much away.  I do like my audience to be surprised.

Returning to Ilion, we had a nice lunch at Sorrento’s, just to give a shout-out to a local business. I have leftovers I can enjoy later.  Yum.  Later on, I went running (actual running, not just running around like earlier).  I pretty much knew I would not make a Running Commentary post.  I did not think I was setting a very good example, for one reason.  For another reason, most people do not want to hear about my sports bras (please do NOT tell me “TMI,” I HATE that expression!).  Around six, Kim picked me up again, and we went to a tasting of Coyote Moon Winery at Valley Wine and Liquors in Herkimer.  Then we met Steven at work and brought him to the tasting.

I heated up leftovers for supper when Steven and I got home (not the ones from today’s lunch).  I thought that was better than some other plans I had, one of which involved the telephone and a credit card.  The food tasted good, it was easy to fix, and we got that little frisson of virtue that the leftovers did not go to waste.

That brings us up to date.  It was a fun day, although I’m afraid this is kind of a dull post.  But what are you going to do on a Saturday? I hope to see you all on Wrist to Forehead Sunday.
