It’s All About Monsters

I feel it is very appropriate to have Monstrous Monday the day after Halloween. But can I find any good monsters to post? We shall see.

It creeps, and leaps…

I often feel like a blob on a Monday. Oh who am I kidding? I have blob-like tendencies most days. I was once accused of being a mud puddle waiting to evaporate. I was unable to frame a convincing argument. But we’re not talking about me.

I know: they might starve to death.

I don’t know how I got that picture here. I was looking for Nosferatu. Sometimes I am dangerous with a stylus in my hand.

Now I can’t seem to get my Media Library to show up. Once again, I’m sure it is Operator Error. Most of my life can be summed up in those two words, but, once again, we are not talking about me.

There’s my guy!

Now I found one of Nosferatu! Then I hit something that made the space where I am typing these words all narrow. I managed to fix that and feel I should quit while I’m ahead. Happy Monday, everyone!

Not Much of a Walk

I walked to the post office twice today.  On the second trip, I thought I would take a few pictures for a Pedestrian Post.  It turned out to be not such a pleasant stroll, but I did take a couple of pictures, so I’ll see if I can manage a few words.

I don’t know why that entire paragraph is indented.  I’m on the Classic Editor, dammit!  I tried to fix it but cannot.  Never mind, on with the post.

For the first walk I wore a sweatshirt under a rain jacket.  It was a comfortable combination at the time.  Unfortunately,  I was having a hot flash when I left the second time.  This rain jacket is too hot!  Take it off!  So I did.  A block away from my house I wished I had not but continued my walk, hoping for another hot flash.

This is a good one!

I always admire snowball bushes after the season.  They turn brown so nicely! I paused to take a picture of one I particularly liked.

The wind picked up, and I began to really regret leaving the rain jacket home.  What the hell was I thinking?  Why do I do these stupid things?  Thus I rendered my walk even less enjoyable.

Smaller but still nice.

I paused to take a picture of another bush, then got myself home as quickly as I could without giving myself shin splints (which is just the sort of stupid thing I am likely to do).

As you may guess, I am not having the best of days today.  Of course it is my own fault.  Operator Error, the story of my life!  No matter.  We can only do the best we can and hope for a better day tomorrow.

Operator Error on Lame Post Friday

So it seems I could not even make a Friday Lame Post yesterday.  In my defense, I was stretched out on the couch, trying to hold perfectly still, unable to do anything but have an upset stomach.  In my defense, I managed to function all day at work with an upset stomach and a headache.  In my detriment, when my stomach and head felt better after work, I proceeded to eat good food without reference as to whether it might be upsetting to a tender tummy.

I really did not think I was going too rich.  I avoided the usual suspects: deep-fried, pepperoni, sausage…  I did not even think I was overeating, but apparently I was.  Yes, as with most of my ills, the problem was Operator Error ( my predictive text thingy even guess “Error” as soon as I typed “Operator”).

So here I sit prior to six on a Saturday morning, mostly delighted I do not have to work today and partly suspicious of what my coffee will do to my stomach.  The latter is of no particular concern, however, because coffee is obviously necessary, whatever the consequences.

I threatened on Thursday to make a blog post about what a big baby I am (a Big Fat Baby Brat, according to Steven, but that is a different story). Instead, I have made yet another post wherein I proved I am a big baby.  No matter.  As usual, I shall hit Publish and hope for the best.

By the way, I think the coffee IS doing me dirt.  Damn.

Too Much Theatre?

It’s that moment when you are pondering what, oh what, to make a blog post about and you’ve got just about enough time to do it, and you find out your rehearsal is at 6 not 6:30.  Oh NO!  I can’t handle it! (Said in a dramatic tone of voice, posing with my wrist to my forehead).  Incidentally, it is rehearsal for Steel Magnolias at Ilion Little Theatre, which will be presented the first two weekends in March.

I’m thinking it’s Wuss-out Wednesday, but given that last parenthetical comment, perhaps it is Wrist to Forehead Wednesday.  The sad thing is my husband had just started to tell me a story about his past.  I may have heard it before, but I do not mind a re-run.  That is one of the secrets to a happy marriage (not a very well-kept secret). (A lesser known secret is to have a husband that tells good stories). I guess he’ll have to tell me later.

AND we are watching WKTV News at five, where I believe there is to be a NewsTalk about Rubbed Out at Ruby’s, the murder mystery to be presented by LiFT Theatre Company at the Overlook Mansion in Little Falls. DVR to the rescue!

You may have noticed that I am a little stressed lately.  I have mysteries to write, costumes to find, lines to learn and blog posts to make.  And who’s fault is it that I have too much on my plate?  That’s right, the overriding problem in my life is ALWAYS Operator Error.  Maybe I can get caught up on the weekend.  But don’t count on it.  Happy Wednesday, everyone.
