Monsters and a Murderer on Monday

I have a couple new pictures for this week’s Monstrous Monday post, if I downloaded them properly and can get them uploaded here properly. Regular readers know I am technologically challenged.

He looks sad, and I don’t blame him.

My sister Vicki tagged me in a comment for this one. I’ve never seen it before. I’m not even sure which movie it is from, but one of the older ones. My favorites are the old ones.

They’re not monsters, but they play them in the movies.

Vicki also recommended this one of four horror icons. I’ve seen it before but never saved it. Now I have. The movies made by these gentlemen are old movies now, but not as old as the first picture. I’m old enough that I remember when some of those movies were new.

Oops! He’s no monster!

As I was scrolling through my Media Library looking for one more monster picture, I accidentally selected this one. It is, of course, no monster but my sweet husband Steven. This was taken at a rehearsal for a murder mystery, so he may have been a murderer. I say close enough. Additionally, I mentioned Steven in yesterday’s post but did not include a picture.

I do enjoy my Monstrous Mondays, even when they are a little short, as with today’s. I hope my readers enjoy them as well.

L Is For Lame

For this week’s Friday Lame Post, I shall do the thing where I choose pictures from my Media Library beginning with a certain letter and make silly remarks about them. I pick the letter L.

I must return to Prospect Falls Winery soon.

Here is a Liquid well suited for Fridays. In fact, I am not drinking wine, but am taking minute sips of a dry martini. I love a dry martini, but one must be cautious when drinking what amounts to a glass of gin. But I digress.

I wonder if these are over now.

Local is one of Mohawk Valley Girl’s favorite words. This is from the farmers market in Little Falls, NY (another L!).

I must find this pair; the eyeballs are so Halloween-y!

Here are some LuLaRoe Leggings given to me by my sister Victoria. It has been cool enough for leggings lately, but I heard a hot day was forecast for tomorrow.

Pretty sexy, if you ask me.

Lost Souls makes my last L. That was an elusive letter, at least in my Media Library. But I am approaching 200 words. I may or may not make it. What do you want from me on Lame Post Friday?

(I made it.)

Apparently I Can Also Whine And Post

The run of Blogger’s Sick Days continues with a brief Tired Tuesday post.  I spent most of the day at work whining that I didn’t feel good and I wanted to go home. Fortunately I can work and whine at the same time (although in general I do not believe in multi-tasking), so I was not completely useless.  They frown upon complete uselessness at my place of employment.  However,  this is not a work blog, so enough about that topic.

Hmmm… there does not seem to be much else to say.  I feel sick, here’s my blog post.  Rather a dull post.  Perhaps I could pep things up with something from my Media Library.

Reflective of my mood?

Here is a shot of storm clouds moving into my neighborhood.  I observed some good dark clouds on my drive home from work, but I did not have anything to photograph them with.

Oh, just shoot me.

I guess this makes it Non-Sequitur Tuesday.   It is Bette Davis in The Letter, a movie I do not have on DVD but catch when I can on TCM.

I would love to have this mug in my collection.

Now we’re back to sequiturs,  because Davis was certainly a deadly woman in that movie.

And now I am over 200 words.  Deadly or not, this has been my Tired Tuesday post.

A Little Murder on a Sunday

OK, so I am still going to be two blog posts behind, because I only made one post yesterday and am only making one today.  Yes, I had big blogging plans.  They did not work out.  Now I am sitting on my couch,  typing one letter at a time with the stylus on my Tablet,  sipping 19 Crimes wine and watching an episode of Columbo on DVD.  I love Columbo.  And 19 Crimes.   It is the original red blend, by the way.

I thought I could make a Sunday Cinema post.  For one reason, I know I have pictures of the two movies we have already watched in my Media Library.

First we saw that heart warming Joan Crawford classic about the mother and daughter who reunite after 20 years, Straitjacket. I love that movie.

No, she is not looking for candy in the movie, but I can’t find the picture without the caption.

I loves me a little Joan Crawford and a little William Castle.

Next we continued the severed head theme with Hush…Hush, Sweet Charlotte.  I haven’t had a Severed Head Sunday in a long time.

“From right here I could spit in your eye!”

I loves me some Bette Davis too.

This is the picture I was looking for.

I was also hoping to share a picture of Peter Falk as Columbo,  but I am quite frankly tired of looking through my Media Library.   I want to get back to watching the show.  Happy Sunday,  everyone.

Just Another Monster Day

It seems as if I just had a monster day, and looking back (I am not always too lazy to do so), I see I had Mid-Week Monsters last Wednesday.  Well, today it is Monday and I need monsters.  I just changed my Facebook profile picture to the Bride of Frankenstein.  I commented, “When I take a little trouble with hair and make-up, I’m a whole different person!”

This is not the picture I used for my profile, but I love the saying.

Can I just say, sometimes it is difficult to find the picture you want. Oh, quit playing that miniature violin!  Everybody is allowed to complain once in a while.  Perhaps I take a few extra turns.  These things happen.

Scary!

To continue my post, I went to my Media Library and added the next picture that caught my eye.  Some of the older movies made excellent use of shadows.  And it just occurs to me:  lots of people are scared of the dark, but when it is pitch black, at least you can’t see any frightening shadows.  I’m just saying.   Another observation: I seem to have a lot of pictures of Nosferatu.  Some of you already knew that about me.

I’m with you, Boney!

I see by my word count I am over 200 words.  Miller time!  Figuratively speaking, of course.  I am actually sipping seltzer with lemon and feeling fairly virtuous about it.  Will my virtue last?  A little suspense adds interest to my evening.  Happy Monday, everyone.
