Meandering around the Marketplace

This picture didn’t turn out as clear as I had hoped.

I have driven by this old barn on Route 5 between Herkimer and Little Falls many times.  I guess it has always been an antique place, but I had never caught it when it was open.  Well, it has opened again as The Old Barn Marketplace, and I have been there twice.  Saturday I took a few pictures of Halloween stuff I thought I would share, in the spirit of the season.

Numerous vendors offer a variety of goods: furniture, collectibles, antiques, vintage clothing, artwork and more.  There is also a cafe, where I enjoyed a cup of coffee before I took a walk around.  The first thing that caught my eye was a delightful skeleton.

I gotta love a skeleton in a tie.

A larger group of Halloween stuff resided near the counter.  I tried to get a shot of the whole thing but don’t know how successful I was.

A fellow behind the counter was a little worried he’d gotten in the shot.

Apart from the Halloween stuff, The Old Barn Marketplace is a fascinating place.  I walked all around the first and second floors before discovering that here is also stuff in the basement.  I guess I should have taken more pictures.  In fact, the whole place deserves a better write-up than I seem to be giving it.  In my defense, it is Monday, the day I usually just Mentally Meander.  I can always write more about the Marketplace later.

The Old Barn Marketplace is located at 6266 State Rt. 5, Little Falls, NY, phone number 315-508-5254.  They are open every day from 10 .m. to 5 p.m. For more information, you can visit their Facebook page.
